WHAT IS SCRANTON PILATES ?SCRANTON PILATES offers group, private and semi-private Reformer Pilates sessions that are fully activating, low impact and simply the best thing ever- using state of the art equipment inside a beautiful loft in downtown Scranton. 45 minutes group sessions, 60 minutes private/semi-private session- targeting major muscle groups, fine tuning posture/balance and completely connecting body/soul and goals/intentions. Signature Group Reformer Session “ONE & ONLY™” Private Reformer/Mat Sessions “PLATINUM FOR YOU™” Semi-Private Reformer/Mat Sessions “DOUBLE THE FUN™” are created and designed by founder Ayla Palfrey, for you with you! I'M NEW TO REFORMER PILATES. CAN I STILL TAKE CLASS?100%. We all start somewhere and that is why Group Sessions are “ALL LEVELS” and created to offer a space for everyone to learn and perfect/ practice their current journey be new or seasoned. Let your skilled instructor have a heads up before you begin a group class, and he/she will be certain to keep an extra eye to assist along the way. We recommend taking a few privates before a group session to receive that dedicated time learning the fundamentals of Pilates. WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR CLASS?Booked sessions allow for early access to studio 15 minutes prior. This allows you to pick your reformer spot, freshen up and stretch out prior to class. Post sessions we ask you to be respectful/considerate for preparation of the next session and politely excuse yourself from the studio. Studio is booked privately for each group session so there is a time frame we stick to. Don’t worry, we will have plenty of events and workshops to hang out in the studio. WHAT IS THE ATTIRE @ SP?Wear something you feel comfortable in and able to move freely. Loose clothing is a safety hazard as you don’t want it to get stuck in the spring well or rail bed. Shoes are stored away at the entrance of class and Pilates socks are recommended. We have socks and merch you can purchase at the studio or online. We got you covered.

CAN I DO PILATES IF I AM PREGNANT?Pilates is wonderful for expecting mothers. Instructors are trained to make modifications to the SP Method for those who are pre/post natal. Please share with the instructor prior to ensure they take note and be sure to keep the instructor posted on changes throughout your pregnancy. Each trimester will vary so it is important to keep you safe. Private Sessions w/ SP are recommended during this time. Send us an email info@scrantonpilates.com or call 570.909.9326 to discuss/book.

WHAT IF I AM RECOVERING FROM AN INJURY OR HAVE MEDICAL ISSUES?The SP Method believes Pilates is recovery and a way to also reduce injury. Movement, stability, balance/posture will be beneficial to focus on during your recovery of any injury depending on obviously. If you have any injuries or are recovering from an injury- we recommend ensuring with your physician they are supportive with you practicing Pilates in a safe manner during your injury and to please share any limitations suggested. Private Sessions would greatly be beneficial for the recovery as the specific problem area may be more localized and the session be specific to your needs. I TRIED TO BOOK A CLASS AND IT SAID IT WAS WAITLISTED?You will be added to the "waitlist" and if a class cancellation is logged, the first client added to the waitlist will be moved into the class. You will be given the option to accept or deny the booking at that time.

NO BABYSITTER, CAN I BRING MY CHILD TO CLASS WITH ME?Unfortunately, we do not offer childcare. Only those individuals booked for specific sessions are admitted for entry.

SP FACILITIESSCRANTON PILATES is a private studio and is filled with those who have either prebooked a session or have a scheduled time to come in. We do not offer Showers or Locker Rooms. However, there is a space to store away your belongings. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
